About Us

National Election Defense Coalition is a nonpartisan network working to protect voting rights, ensure transparent and verified election results, promote best practices for electoral reform, and restore democracy to U.S. elections.

National Election Defense Coalition (NEDC) is a project of Psephos Inc, a 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2006 by a group of California election integrity activists.

NEDC was launched as a national project in 2012 when activists working at the intersection of election integrity, voting rights, and campaign finance reform joined Psephos to take their mission of protecting democracy to the next level.

We understood that in order to restore full health to American democracy our efforts would have to succeed in coordination: Protecting the right to vote, the right to have our votes counted, and the right to clean elections not corrupted by corporate and special interest money.

Additionally, without a transparent and trustworthy electoral system, the movements for social, economic, environmental and climate justice face significant resistance from powerful and corrupt interests.

Our mission is to guarantee everyone the right to vote—and have their vote counted.

Our MOTIVATION is the multi-pronged assault on democracy by extremists in America.

OUR community brings together organizations, activists, citizens, and government.

Our strategy is to build state and national FUSION MOVEMENT networks for reform.

Our inspiration is the history of successful people's movements.

The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice.
